shuffling things up a bit 📍
It's been an eventful 30 days since the start of the challenge that I've given to myself. Over the course of this challenge, I have had a few ups 📈 and a few downs 📉 but notably there haven't been any major changes. The reason why I started this challenge was to bring about a major change in my study schedule and help me increase focus.
I've at numerous occasions found myself deviating from my ultimate goal and wandering into unwanted territories which have led to me questioning my methodology 🫠. I've noted that I've been getting extremely high dopamine through sources other than academics namely YouTube Shorts, YouTube, Reddit, Spotify and LinkedIn. This would not have been a problem if the dopamine levels soared as a result of productive activities but unfortunately that hasn't been the case. Now I stand at a very crucial juncture in my December 2024 attempt. A point from which things can go only one way. Either up or down. Having already skipped the June 2024 attempt owing to Amendments, the latter could mean unmeasurable trauma. As a measure to curb this I've decided to tweak my schedule a bit.
Over the next 17 days (17th Oct - 2nd Nov), my focus will solely be on completing the syllabus and getting some writing practice 🎯. To achieve this, I've decided to cut off all my sources of ''free dopamine''. For the next 17 days, I'll keep myself distanced from any unproductive activities 💪. CS as a course is unforgiving and relentless when we talk about the pressure and the content to be covered 🤯. And to achieve this, taking steps like these are important. Hopefully I'll succeed in this. 🤞
So, with newfound energy and passion 💪, I'll see you tomorrow. Till then, stay safe and happy ❤️. Bye! 👋
