a view from distance!
Hello!
Unlike previous posts which are usually related to me or my experiences, this one is kinda different. This one is about my view on a topic which I have always avoided. A topic which scares me. Failure.
Failure is often viewed as a setback in life but rarely does anyone notice the changes it brings in people. People fail only when they try and there is nothing more important than trying. Prior to starting this journey of becoming a Company Secretary, trying was something I had always done but only in areas which I had found it easy, never in areas where there was a chance of failure. But this journey was different right from the outset. I knew that there were more chances of me failing that succeeding but still I entered. I have been lucky till this point to not encounter the area that scares me the most and I hopefully continue to have luck favor me.
This post is about a recent conversation I had regarding failure. The person is someone who has seen both the ends of the spectrum - success and failure. A guy who got an AIR in CS Foundation is still at the Executive stage for the past many years and this post is about the conversation I had with him.
He asked me post the results if I view his journey till this point as a 'museum of failure' or a 'gallery of trying'. It was so aptly put that I had to think a lot before answering this. I had an answer in my mind but to frame it was a very difficult thing. When someone has not been able to clear a stage many times, you have to be gentle with your answer but you also cannot sugarcoat things. Here's my answer:
''It depends. It will always be a 'gallery of trying' no matter what till the moment you give up. The moment you give up, it becomes a 'museum of failure' with a 'gallery of trying' in it. But remember, even when you give up, there will always be a 'library of lessons' in between the two. Also, there will also be a 'graveyard of hopes and dreams and aspirations'. Every person going through this will always see this graveyard.''
A few lines from a song which I always look up to whenever I feel like giving up which I hope helps my readers:
Sar jhuka ke ek pal mein maine kya nahin paaya
These lines are from the song 'Arziyan' from the movie 'Delhi 6'. I know these may not be exactly similar to cases of failure but this does connect one to the times when they were aspiring to achieve what they wanted to. It also highlights the moments when people decide to drop out when they're on the brink of success. The last line puts light on what people miss despite being so close to success.
This was my perspective on this topic. Hopefully this helped the person I wanted to convey my message to. I also hope that this post has introduced my readers to an interesting point of view which is kinda different from that of others. That's all from my end this time. Bye! 👋
